Cobbossee Lake (short for Cobbosseecontee),

a large 5238-acre lake in central Maine,

is valued by people for fishing, swimming,

boating, and wildlife. One of Maine’s premier

bass fishing lakes, Cobbossee Lake is also

a secondary source of drinking water for

Maine’s capital Augusta.  That probably

explains why it has such pristine clean

water that makes it so good for swimming!

True, days are a bit shorter but often

bright, the air is crisp in the mornings

you can still fish and canoe on the lake.

Cobbossee lake is always at the head of

list when it comes to the best waters for

largemouth bass. But Brown Trout is

abundant as  well with browns over

         5 pounds not unusual.

One of the reasons for a diversity of fish

life in the lake is a wide variety of

         habitat, from deepwater shoals

(as deep as 100 feet!) to extensive

         swamp areas.

All pictures are taken from the garden

            around the house.

The perfect way to enjoy the lake and the evening
